Snowed In Studios, the video game and interactive media development studio based in Hintonburg, Ottawa, Canada.
Founded in 2010, Snowed In Studios began with only a handful of Ottawa’s game industry veterans. It has now grown to one of the largest game studios in the city, boasting nearly 100 employees, and provides external development services to international industry giants including Ubisoft, EA, Eidos and Warner Bros.
In 2018, Snowed In Studios was acquired by Dublin-based Keywords Studios, the leading technical and creative services provider to the global video games industry.
The acquisition exposed the company to a more global audience and client base, and Snowed In now assists some of the largest names in the industry with game programming, creative development, project management, UI/UX production, concept art and testing services.
Reflecting on Snowed In Studios’ 10-year milestone, Studio Head and co-founder Jean-Sylvain Sormany said:
“I’m incredibly proud of what we have achieved in the last decade. Snowed In Studios grew from a small indie game development shop to a well-running studio, targeting to be over 100 employees in 2020.
“The team is composed of talented and brilliant individuals that keep demonstrating that Ottawa has a place in the video game production industry. The future is bright, and we can’t wait for the next 10 years to come.”
Production Director and co-founder, Tim Vito, is particularly proud of the culture at Snowed In Studios. He added:
