Hintonburg has a rich and fascinating history with its mix of housing and commercial building stock that spans the decades from the 1850s to the present day. The increasing construction of in-fills and condominiums threatens our residential and industrial-commercial heritage, heritage properties that make our community unique. It is vital that we preserve and celebrate our unique neighbourhood and history. The committee works with residents, business owners, city planners, elected officials and other interested parties to learn about and celebrate our inheritance by:
- conducting research projects
- leading walking tours
- identifying and lobbying for potential heritage designations
- sharing stories and information about our heritage properties
